So often we think being a "good Christian" is obeying a list of do's and don'ts (law), but as you've said, we aren't under law, but grace. Law actually strengthens sin. Victory is found by realizing that by His grace we are already light. We walk as children of light BECAUSE we are light, not in order to BECOME children of light.
